I recently bought a diamond, is it good value from your point of view?

Price: $3800 GIA certificate
0.82 carat F color VS1 clarity Excellent cut, no fluorescence and culet, Girdle is medium to slightly thick
Depth: 62.9%
Table: 54%
Crown Angle: 35
Pavilion Angle: 41

Pavilion angle is slightly larger than what is optimal for that crown angle. Will need to see an idealscope image to determine if leakage is present.

If you do a search at the top of the page, a .82, F, VS1 with a GIA cert starts at 3.5k and goes up to 4.3k so while not a deal, you didn''t overpay.

However, the cut on your stone isn''t the best. I don''t like that crown and pavilion angle together and I don''t love the depth.

Agreeing with elle Chris

Depth is high.

Depending on LGF and how tightly the stone is cut, and the extent of GIA rounding... could have a nice IS.

Agreed.
