Just a quick question about a diamond we are thinking of buying and made into a RHR with a halo setting, I have no clue when it comes to rings. The diamond grading is as follows:
Cushion Brilliant
Measurements 8.78 x 8.66 x 5.98mm
3.30 carats
Color E
clarity VS2
Polish- very good, symmetry good and no fluorescence.
The depth 69.1%, something else is very thin to thick faceted (I have no idea what this means) and the top part of it says 63%

Can anyone tell me if this is a good diamond or just an average one.
Thanks

Hi Angel,

Can you post pictures?? Is this from a Pricescope Vendor?

Also, do a search on Pricescope for cushion diamonds.

No it is not from a pricescope vendor and I have no pictures yet. Even if I get pictures it will take me a while to learn to upload them!
Thanks for the tip, I will do a search on pricescope for a cushion cut. I have no idea about the value or quality of diamonds but this one certainly looks amazing to the naked eye, I was just wondering if it was a decent rock according to the specs.

Hi angle,

With fancies, this IS what matters most. Specs are just a little bit of help, the eyes trump everything. Fancies aren''t like rounds.

I would suggest looking at as many Cushions as you can, to compare. If you still feel it looks amazing, go for it. Trust what you like!

Hi Angel,

I agree with Ellen that cushions must be seen. I assume this is a newer style "modern" cushion? If so, I really don''t like the "good" symmetry, it should be VG at a minimum and preferably excellent. Same with the polish. The table is also a bit big for my preferences assuming that the 63 number you wrote down is the table, but that is JUST me looking at the "traditional" numbers and it doesn''t mean that this cushion won''t be lovely.

But those are preferences and if you love the stone that''s what matters most with cushions. But try and compare with a stone that is EX/EX and there is a BIG difference in appearance often.
