Is this diamond a good deal?

Looking for a rock for my e-ring, but relatively new to diamonds. I was thinking around 2.7 carats but then this one popped up.

It is H, 3.09, ideal cut, and SI1 with medium fluorescence. To my (very untrained) eye, I cannot detect any flaws or colour (could the fluoro offset the yellow tone?) but it seems suspicious cheap for a 3 carat!

Can anyone check it out for me and tell me if there is something wrong with it that I am noticing or if it is a good deal? And other advice appreciated.

It’s clarity grade is based on clouds not shown. Not a good things for an SI1. Could seriously effect appearance. It’s does not look very crisp to me, and I think it’s a result of the clouds.
also the yellow florescence is going to do the color no favors.

Thanks. I wondered if there might be something like that. Sorry for my ignorance, but is that always the case with SI1 diamonds, or is there some way to determine from the webpage that that is the case?

So if you look at the GIA cert and the clarity plot looks exceptionally clear, like VVS or VS, but there is a note about Clarity based on clouds not shown, you need to really need to examine the pictures closely.

SI1 stones can be a great value and eye clean. But whenever it says, "clarity grade based on clouds not shown", it's a huge red flag. Unfortunately there's no way to know that until you open the GIA certification and look for the clarity characteristics. The other issue with this stone is that it is cut deeper than we recommend (we recommend staying under 62.4 for depth). So it will look a bit small for it's carat weight, which isn't good. Both of those things are the reasons why it is cheaper and I would't buy it.

Ahhh, thanks! I hadn't realised you could click through and view the GIA cert. That makes a lot more sense! Well, back to the drawing board, I guess!

Thanks! Those are all great to know. I will change my parameters and set the max depth as 62.4%. I am new to diamonds so trying to learn as I go along. It is so hard to shop for diamonds online rather than in person!

Thank you! Budget is $30k, possibly even a bit more (though would feel better if we could find one for 25ish).

Obviously cut would be at least ideal, and for color my fiance is being a bit of a snob - he insists it must be D-F (maybe a G could convince him?!). For clarity so long as it is eye clean I am happy! (As I mentioned I don't know a great deal about it all yet!)

My finger size is 5.5. From looking at pics, I realised a 3 carat might look a wee bit big on my hands, and the ones that are 2.0-2.7 seem to look good on similar sized hands for my tastes.

Keen to hear and suggestions, hints or tips you have!

May I ask why HE insists on the color when it is you who will wear the ring? I will guarantee you that if you show him a G, he will have no clue if it is G or F.

Ha, no idea, really! I started discussing all the aspects of it and then he did some research and started getting a bit obsessive! I guess it is because it will be "from" him (even though I get the choose!)

I think part of it is probably that he has only looked online rather than in person so he imagines any not described as colorless will be some hideous yellow monstrosity in person! I want to try to go and look at some in a store together, so he can see that this isn't the case!
 
Definitely a G will NOT look yellow. I would be careful if looking in a store that you only go somewhere that has GIA or AGS graded stones. Many stores in the mall have EGL graded stones, which are horrible and the color grades are off. So a G from EGL will likely be an H/I or lower from GIA/AGS. G color looks very white to almost everyone so please tell him not to worry.

Yeah, I figured a G would look white! Thanks, I will take care to go with GIA/AGS stones only
