Is this common for a diamond band?

I had a platinum channel set band custom made with the diamonds from a white gold anniversary ring my fiance gave me. This platinum channel set band is to be my wedding band at the end of the month (yay!). I am curious/concerned about the varying thickness of the band. It's pretty thick at the top and then gets pretty thin at the bottom (meanwhile it stays pretty much 4 mm wide all around). I'm afraid that the thickness is too thin at the bottom of the ring-- I've never seen a ring do this before. Perhaps there is a reason for this? Would you have platinum added at the bottom of the ring to match the thickness all around? Is it even possible to add platinum like so?

Here is a picture of my ring to show ya'll what I am talking about:

I forgot to mention that there are 11 diamonds, totalling 1 ct.....and I wear a size 5.....not sure if that info is necessary or not!

Caveat: I'm not an expert, but I've seen many half-eternities like that in the UK.

I have two half eternity bands that were ordered but are a bit thinner on the bottom as well.

I think this would be considered normal. Its to make the ring more comfortable to wear on the bottom of your
finger.
