I’m no expert so would love any opinions!

Thanks!

The stone looks to have been photographed at an angle (arrows are all not of even length). Even so, there is still an awful lot of solid red saturation in the Idealscope image, which is a good thing.

Can see the cloud show up in the image at around 11 o’clock though.

Is the cloud an issue do you think?

I thought the stone had to be tilted, surely a stone would be cut with those sort of short arrows!

@LaylaR as a 60/60 liker do you see any issues / red flags with this one?

Thanks for any info people can give!

I am happy with the Ideal-scope (not an ASET, and not straight but cut is great).
Clouds as the main grade maker in SI are usually slightly duller.
The fact that there are several other inclusions listed may make it OK.
I would send it to one of the appraisers on the list at PS and ask an opinion.

Thanks @Garry H (Cut Nut) I very much appreciate your opinion!

I’m in Australia, I saw the stone and thought it performed well but wasn’t sure if it was technically a good stone or if I just like sparkly things and can’t see past that to tell if it’s great or I could do better!

I also don’t know what I should be prepared to pay for a stone like this! Any opinion on that?? Even ballpark would be great! I can’t find anything to compare it to!

1. I am a director of PS
2. I am a retailer in Australia
I can not comment on individual stone or prices.

Seeing similar sized GIA graded stones at JA for between USD$27k-38k

I saw in a related thread that this might be a HOF stone? If so, i’d Convert the above into AUD and then multiply by at least 1.5x as I suspect that’s what the dealer would be looking for. If not, something like a converted to AUD range from the above USD amounts

Thanks so much @bmfang were those stones E colour do you remember?

Thanks again and thanks @Garry H (Cut Nut) I appreciate your position!

@KirstLWA The stone looks nice, not a super ideal but should be a bright stone if no transparency issues with the clouds. Weren't you working with HPD/CBI for an upgrade when you stopped looking for 3+ ct stones?

This diamond not really symmetrical but is quite nice 60/60 diamond.

@ac117 I was working with them but had a family situation that meant I couldn’t commit at that time as I had to concentrate on other more important issues.

I’m looking around again as the stone I had on hold is now being held for someone else!

So back to the drawing board!

Just saw this thread, but with you and Gary both being Aussie's....seems like a logical conclusion would be to meet face to face and see if he can help you with the entire deal. But that's me I guess -- I prefer to look at people in the eye, although I understand the value and simplicity of online purchases.

Well, how about this one then, only .09mm smaller in diameter and 5k cheaper.
If you like fire and dispersion, a CBI will outperform any 60/60 diamond, imo.
A complimentary CA for a PA of 40.8 should be around 34.5 not 33.5.
Either that, or work with @Wink to have Paul cut you a diamond to your liking and budget.

Sorry to hear that! @cflutist linked another great CBI and I see that WF has one the same size too only a few hundred more but G color: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3943174.htm

Or this which is a smidge smaller but under $30k! https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3907538.htm

Thanks everyone!

Here is a hand pic! I know how much you enjoy these babies!

@cflutist I realise it isn’t of super ideal proportions but John pollard has mentioned that the dimensions of this stone are his preferred dimensions for a 60/60 so it should be ok!

After trying on multiple rings both cast and handmade, it has made me further worry about whether or not I will like to buy a ring unseen as some bands felt like they’d snap in an instant and I would be disappointed to receive a ring like that.

This ring is handmade in platinum and the shape etc is exactly as I would want it!

I really love the stone but unless someone tells me there is something wrong in terms of light leakage or inclusions then I don’t know what is wrong with it, other than not being super ideal???

Thanks for any advice!!

33.5 is perfectly compatible with 40.8, and 40.8 is compatible with a wide range of crown angles when it comes to potential light leakage, as is verified by an excellent HCA score, the difference will be in the personality of the diamond.

What I mean is in a well cut symmetrical diamond 33.5/40.8 should not leak light, in the same way 36/40.8 might (incompatible).

Looks very nice congratulations.

I think it looks fine, as far as we can tell, if you like 60/60! But I think the one thing you need to get verified is whether the clouds are a negative as Garry mentioned above. He rarely posts, so I pay attention when he does. Don't buy unless you have a great return policy with ample time to have the diamond evaluated. I don't know how far you are from Garry or if shipping is possible, but I'd trust him to be fair in doing an appraisal on the stone.

I let this one go!

I don’t know what difference there will be really, to my eye, between this and a super ideal but felt I might try for the elusive 4 x excellent on the hca, super ideal or not!

It was the nicest stone I’ve seen in Australia so far, in over a year of looking at different stones!
It was the first stone I’ve seen in real life that spoke to my heart!

But for the money I thought I might get better than 3 x vg, 1 x ex on hca if I look around longer!

Hopefully my eye will see a difference and like it... who knows ;-)

Hi everyone, I’m new. Can anyone tell me if this ASET is poor/average/above average? View media item 122583

Hi, @Kimbro, welcome to Pricescope! Best to start a new thread with your question, and be sure to post both ASETs, if you are asking for a comparison.

Embarrassingly, I don’t know how to start a new thread :wall:
