Could be good, will need an idealscope image to say. Is it eye-clean or you have not seen it yet? Price-wise, I see online the price range from 4.3-5.8k, depending on the cut, eye-cleanliness and vendor policy.

I can be good if the numbers are rounded in the right direction and the cut is tight, which is why an idealscope image is preferred for this.

If you cannot get an IS in time, then when you go see it look at it in the shade or in a shadow, look at it in full sunlight, look at it in the jewelers lighting and in indirect light. In all of these environments it should look great and have a different personality. This video shows how an ideal diamond should look in some different lighting environments.

thanks man, will try to view it in tons of different lights. I should see lots of different colors reflecting from the stone - that are very vibrant - is that the right assumption?

Did you watch the video I posted? It shows how a diamond will look in different lighting. I would not describe it as colorful, typically.

But this is why we are encouraging you to buy a diamond that has all the assessments like idealscope. If you do not really know what a really well cut stone *can* and *should* look like, then it is really really hard to buy a diamond by just using your own eyes.

The video showed in my opinion light reflecting off of the diamond to create many different vibrant colors. Depending on the lighting available the diamond had a different look to it.

From the looks of the video the diamond should reflect I guess what they call "fire" and have a smooth look to it.

I don''t think I would get the ideal scope in time and I also feel weird using the ideal scope in a jewelers store - not sure why.

Under spot lighting you will see lots of different colors, that is called fire. nder diffuse lighting (like outside on cloudy say) you will see mostly white and also patterns of white and dark. The patterns of light should be all accross the curface of the diamond and there should not be dead areas or areas that stay dark all the time. When you hold the diamond close to your head, it should not go dark.
