The PolkI refers to simple cut (rose or single) diamonds.
The style goes back to the Mongols (Indian).
The true antique pieces are magnificent.
The ”modern” interpretation style uses rose cut or single cut diamonds, usually lower quality, set in silver that is gold plated.
The diamonds, like with Georgian pieces, are usually foil backed, the diamonds arent cut for sparkle and were “see through” so they used a silver cup setting.
With the modern pieces be aware that some manufacturers are are now using Moissanite /CZ / synthetic coloured gems. Best to get that established before purchase.
