You might have noticed that a lot of people are looking at your thread, however nobody is answering your question... It is probably because your description lacks the Crown & Pavilion Angle measurements which are critical for anybody to be able to tell you about the potential of the diamond... Ask the seller to provide you with a full page Sarin / OGI computerized proportions analysis and post the results here and we're sure that you'll get some answers...

One thing we'd like to question is the existence of a crisp and complete Hearts & Arrows pattern on a diamond graded as having only 'good' symmetry... It's kind of unlikely, but we won't say impossible... Have you seen pictures of the H&A pattern? Post them here as well...

This is a GIA Cert, and no sarin report. I have asked appraisers around here (Houston) if they have the capablility to do a sarin analysis, and they don't. The seller said it would have to be sent to NY and would cost a couple of 100 bucks. I am very worried that this may not be a true H&A diamond.

BTW, the polish is good and symetry is Very good. Is it possible for an H&A diamond to have a "good" polish? Some say that an H&A has a minimum polish of "very good", therefore, this is a fake. Is that true? Thank you

What makes a Hearts & Arrows diamond is the crispness and completeness of the pattern which is primarily an issue of facet alignment and the angle of the crown and pavilion facets... So it is possible that a diamond can exhibit a Hearts & Arrows pattern while having only 'Good' polish...

Brian Gavin of 'A Cut Above' who produces the diamonds for WhiteFlash.com is located in Texas, perhaps he knows where you can find a Sarin machine locally...

If it's a GIA Cert, the cut must be graded as excellent or Very good to be considered for H&A certification. What does the GIA cert say? The numbers you have could be H&A, including the measurements, but for a D VVS 2 $7800 seems unlikely. Get the other numbers or get a different stone.
