What is the magnification on that pic? Definitely things under the table.

The numbers look good. Is it eye clean?

The retailer said it is eye clean. Also I'm not sure the magnification of the image. I sent an email to ask. This is an expensive investment so I am just trying to get the best value for my dollar.

Thanks for the responses.

I see some fuzz and inclusions at 12:00 and 8:00? The top one could be pronged, the 8:00 I think would be hard to see.

Think either of these are deal breakers? Do you think I should I give up in this one and keep looking?

If that pic is 20x or more magnification, it probably is eye clean. But without knowing how close it is, it's hard to tell because you can see a good-sized feather and other things here.

In addition, I am worried about the contrast. In pictures of diamonds at some sites you can see some really nice contrast that produces some really nice arrows when looking down on the diamond. Is this something I should worry about or am I being picky?

You can have an ideal cut diamond with amazing light performance that doesn't feature the optical symmetry pattern of a true Hearts and Arrows cut. It's also in the way the photo is taken that highlights that contrast. This isn't the greatest photo. That being said though, if you want perfect H&A, buy a H&A stone. Otherwise, you can get close with other extremely well-cut stones, but it's more of a happy accident than being precision cut to those strict H&A standards.

No one on PS would ever steer you away from Whiteflash. They're a top vendor and provide all of the images, info and service you need to make a confident and great decision. That SI1 you posted from them doesn't appear to be the most eye clean one they probably have, but you are definitely on the right track! You can also find one with better, even more ideal proportions/angles. I'd look a little further and also contact them with your budget and wants. They're great to work with. Also, PSers here will probably chime in with some other options.

Thanks for the info. I am looking for something that is on the plus side of 1.5 and I can put about 12,500 towards the stone. I think I want an F-H with good clarity and I kind of like the idea of fluorescence.

Regardless of who you use, be sure to have the privilege of looking before you commit to the diamond. Make sure that you have a reasonable return period with no penalty other than postage should you return the diamond. Only YOUR eyes can tell you whether or not YOU like the diamond.

Wink,

Thank you for the advice. I definitely plan on inspecting it myself and having an expect inspect it to make sure I got a diamond worth putting on my girlfriends hand. This process is pretty stressful. Its hard to know when all the pieces fall into place.

There's a really good guy there who won't steer you wrong.

Thank you. I sent him a message about a diamond I was looking at to see if he could identify on the open market. His diamonds look amazing and I look the enthusiasm in his videos. Unfortunately those diamonds are quite a bit out if my price range. My girlfriend's requirements are "big and shiny". Being an engineer, I am the one that appreciates the details and the contrast of having good optical symmetry.

On a side note I found and the image is taken with 40x magnification.
