hello everyone...just wanted an opinion on the diamond below

sorry i could only obtain a blow up of the diamond, no idealscope, etc

i used the HCA tool and it returned a score of 1.4

light and fire return of excellent, scintillation and spread of very good

i have attached the image and the link to the GIA report below

http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?pag...&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=2156978035

they are asking for $8,000 CAD so works out to be $7,200 USD with current exchange rates

thanks for everyone's help

Just for comparison purposes, check out this stone.

Less expensive than the stone linked (after Pricescope discount), with a better clarity (since you will be buying sight unseen), and a guaranteed stellar cut:

1.033ct, H, VS2

thanks Rocky

i will actually be going into the local jeweller to view the diamond tomorrow, he has told me its eye clean through email exchanges and said the diamond shouldve been vs2 instead. i will be able to find more when i get my hands on it tomorrow.

i would really like to know if the price he quoted is fair or a bit extreme for what im getting

ive searched the GIA report number and a few online retailers were carrying it but is now unavailable maybe due to it being reserved by me for viewing. their prices seem to be inline with what i was quoted.

i think i can get another 1 or 2 hundred off bringing it to 7000 USD.

what do you think?

My mistake - I didn't realize you would be able to see the stone in-person.

View the stone next to other stones, and at least one you know to be AGS Ideal cut.

Your eyes will be the best indicator of whether this is the right diamond or not. Also, view the stone in a variety of environments (not just under the impressive jewelry store lights), to get an idea of how the stone will appear in everyday wear.

The price doesn't seem exorbitant, but there are similarly priced stones available, with AGS Ideal cuts, so it isn't the only game in town.
