Is this a good price? (H-VS1, AGS000, .67 carat) for $2,900

I would greatly appreciate a general read on the price I''m being offered for this stone.

Here are the stats:

H-VS1
AGS 000 (Polish, Symmetry, Proportions all = Ideal),
67 points
fluorescence = negligible (does this translate to less value than fluorescence = none?)
girdle = 1.3 - 1.8%
table = 56%
depth = 62.5%

price is $2,900

This is from a local independent dealer w/ a decent reputation.
It seems like I could get this for about $500 less online or if I did more work, but not sure if it''s worth it as I''d like it sooner than later.

Should I try to negotiate with the dealer or is this a good price?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

krp,

It is not a good price unless you''re getting a free platinum Tiffany or something of the like. $500 is not chump change in a deal like this. Tell the dealer that you really want to buy locally but you''ve seen prices online that are significantly better.

BTW - most dealers take credit cards and ship overnight. That means if you order something online Tuesday it''ll be in your hands Wednesday and you''ll have $500 extra to spend on the honeymoon...
