Have you seen this stone?

Did you already purchase this stone?

If you have bought it, then I''m sure it''s lovely.

I''m not an expert, and I know even less about princess cuts, but that table seems too large. Do a simple search using the pricescope your stone above and none of the stones have such a large table.

When I was looking for my diamond, I was strongly advised to not put any confidence in stones with IGI grading reports. From what I''ve been told, they are the lowest of the low in grading. I may be wrong on that, but a stone graed by AGS or GIA is generally higher regarded. Places like Bond jewelers and Kay typically sell stones graded by IGI. Not exactly the quality most on this forum have come to appreciate and expect in their diamond purchase.

It it''s not too late, I''d probably return that stone if you''ve already purchased it and you can still get your money back.

Rod was so much more kind in his post.

If you want an educational example, where you can find all the possible tricks, a cutter can use to stay above a magic weight of 1.00, you probably have an excellent choice here.

Live long,
Alright, let me be the nice guy this time and tranlate this for you.

This diamond is probably VERY poorly cut because the cutter was trying very hard to stay above the magic number of 1 carat so he could charge extra for the finished stone.

My advice - do not buy this stone.
Spend a few days or weeks reading as much as you can on this site and you will learn more than you need to know to make an educated purchase when the time comes.

You said it all. That thing is a little grim by the numbers.

And an IGI cert, not good.

in case you were still considering this stone...
don''t.
