Hi,

I'm in the market for an engagement ring, and so far I'm deciding towards buying this diamond.
Since I'm no expert in rating diamond cuts, would you think this is a good diamond?

Carat 0.8
Color G
Clarity IF
Cut Excellent
Polish Very Good
Symmetry Excellent
Fluorescence None

Depth 61.2
Table 58
Crown Angle 33
Crown Height 14
Pavilion Angle 41.4
Pavilion Depth 44
Star Length 50
Lower Half 80
Girdle Medium, Faceted 3.5
Culet None

I'm not in search of a perfect diamond, but I would to buy a good diamond.

Thanks so much for any input :)

Without further information, you can do better, particularly (probably) carat/$. What are your minimum specs and budget?

Thanks!

I was doubtful of posting the price since I'm not buying it in the USA. And I know prices are a little higher in my country. The price is 4,200 USD.

That would be my budget. As for specs, besides the famous 4Cs, I'm not exactly sure.

Well, for 100 dollars that is one hell of a diamond. What I mean is that you need specify the price, so that nice people here can give you a better choice. About 99% of the time, the regulars here will give you much, much better options than what you've found.

Hahaha, I know. My precaution about posting the price is that I'm not in the USA, so I know diamonds will be more expensive in my country.

The diamond is priced at 4,200 USD

Thanks Matthews.

From what I've seen, in the diamond I posted the pavilion angle and depth are outside of the ideal proportions.

Will this make a big difference in light reflection?

Yes. Think of a mirror. If it's pointing at you, you can see the reflection. Move it a tiny percentage, and the reflection goes away. A diamond has 57 (or 58) facets, which act as mirrors taking light from the environment and reflecting it out the top into your eye. Those facets even reflect off each other, creating "virtual facets", causing even more reflections (think of those "mirror houses" at the fair). When even a tiny fraction of a percentage of an angle is off, the light bounces out in the wrong direction (like not into the viewers' view) or even "leaks" out the bottom.
