Hello everyone, I would be very grateful if I could get some advice on a round diamond.
I have decided to go for a designer ring from one of the top brands, I am aware that we will pay extra for the name. However, we want to at least buy a great diamond for that steep price.

I asked the sales associate to send me the specs of a few diamonds, there's 0.40 H VS2 diamond I'd be interested in.

The specs are as follows:

Depth 61,2 %
Table 59%
Crown Angle 33°
Crown height 13%
Pavilion Angle 41,6°
Pavilion Depth 44%
Star Length 50%
Lower Half 80%
Girdle Medium to slightly thick, faceted, 4%
Culet None
No fluorescence

Clarity characteristics- feather

It is GIA triple excellent diamond.

I have run the specs in the HCA tool, the result is 4.6 (not so great).

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello :wavey:. How's it going, I'm also looking for a round diamond, I've been looking for weeks actually and still havent decided. Ive done so much reading about how to pick a diamond that my brain it's about to explode.(Crazy how much there is to a diamond)

With the knowledge I picked up this past weeks from websites and others in this same website,I woulnt buy it. Unless it's really cheap, How much are they asking for the diamond, If you dont mind me asking?

I would really try to get a stone with a rating of 2.0 or less if you want that sparkle.

Hi there, it seems that looking for a really good diamond is an adventure :o

The price is over 3000 Eur for the diamond platinum ring, which is a lot. That is why I want to be careful not to pay a huge sum for a ”meh” diamond, even if it comes from a big brand. Or, even better, especially because it comes from a big brand.

Thank you for your input and good luck with your search ! :)

yea tell me about it, I'm on my third week and still searching,

I would really recommend going to this two websites.
http://www.jamesallen.com/ You can see the actually picture of the diamond you are buying

http://www.whiteflash.com/ this does all the homework for you if you pick in-house diamons,it will have the actually picture of the diamond and it will have ideal scope images as well and you will know your getting a sparkly new diamond.

and if your going for a ring for $3000 I would say go to does website, you can get a more beautiful diamond and bigger too.
Im new to this diamond purchase thing, my budget is only around 1600 and I could get a nice shiny .46 diamond for 990 rated .6 on that tool + which ever ring I choose,Which Im also going for platinum.

Do some homework, it takes a little reading but its worth it.

Good luck on your search. :wavey:

Thank you for your suggestions, but buying online is out of the question. I am sure you can find a much better deal online, but in my case there are just too many cons, not worth the risk.
