Greetings everyone,
I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am shopping for an engagement ring and I found a suitable diamond and I would like your opinion if this is a good stone to purchase. Here is the info from the GIA certificate:
Round Brilliant
6.91-6.97-4.15
1.20 Carat
G
VS2
Cut Grade Excellent
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Excellent
Fluorescence None
Depth 59.8%
Table 58%
Crown Angle 33.5 degrees
Pavillion Angle 41 degrees
Under addtional comments:
Additional clouds, pinpoints and surface graining are not shown.
My concerns is as follows:
This diamond is rated at VS2 so it should be eye clean right?
The girdle is rated and thin to medium 2.5%, should I be concerned about chipping?
The dimension of the stone is not a typical for 1.20 carat. This measures more like a 1.3 carat (bonus) but I'm worried that the diamond is not cut to the right proportion and will not give off the best brilliance, sparkle and fire. It does get the triple EX from GIA and using the HCA calculator on this site, it comes in a value of 1 so the diamond should look fantastic.
I am not able to see the stone in person as I reside in Toronto, Ontario and the stone is located in New York.
What do you guys think?
