Hi everyone. I am looking for a diamond to put in a pave band. I found this one online and the guy tells me it is a beautiful but I am not sure if I should believe him. It is just over one carat and $4600. I am not an expert please let me know your opinions on if this diamond would make a nice engagement ring.

Here is the ideal scope, Is this enough to tell if it is a nice looking diamond? Let me know if I should get some more info...Thank you

What vendor?

I am not sure off the top of my head. Why? Does that make a difference?

Looks promising from the numbers and idealscope image.

Stone is cut with a shallower crown angle, lower crown height, these tends to have brighter, slightly larger diameter for the same carat weight but less fire.

Hi Christine

The stone has definite potential, might show enhanced brilliance due to the slightly shallow crown angle but this is only guessing, do you know if it is eyeclean? The diamond also has a nice spread or face up size for just over 1 carat.

Well the vendor told me it was eye clean and that it is a good fit for my budget.

You will still get lots of sparkle from this stone, just probably less color light from the dispersion.

Here is a photo a 10x, you can kind of see the feather, I don''t know how that effects the diamond......Thank you so much for your opinions and help, in this important/confusing/exciting decision

Looks quite extensive and seems to go from crown to pavilion. What do the vendor say about it?

the vendor says it beautiful but since I am not able to see it in person I want to make sure it is worth it before I fork over the dough. I never knew buying a ring could be so complicated

Best thing to do is make sure you have a return policy and get an appraiser to inspect the stone for you to include the feather, there isn't any way to judge the feather from the photo or grading report so this would be the best course of action.

Click here to find a tool you can use to locate an appraiser in your area.

Ditto on the appraiser.
