Is this a good center stone?

I am working with a budget of $10,000 maximum for the entire ring. My girlfriend seems to like the "halo" style rings. Is this to small of a stone to go in a ring like that? Also is it a good price or could I find something better? I have read very good things about Brian Gavin on here...

What size and color/clarity were you hoping for? And do yo uwant a designer halo setting or not? I think that setting aside $2k for a nice halo setting and spending $8k on the diamond would be a good trade off, which should allow you to get something just under 1.5cts.
