Is now a good time to buy diamond?

I have been considering getting a 2 carat RB as a RHR but am wondering if now is a good time to buy? With the crazy price increases and Christmas round the corner, I am wondering about prices and inventory during this period of time. I am not in any hurry so I can afford to wait.

I think if you are waiting for the prices to come down, it seems unlikely especially if you are looking for higher quality, this time around
all the stores would be stocked up, you can start early to shop now, you might get the right stone.

No one can predict the fluctuations of the diamond prices. If you want to get a deal, wait for a deal across the secondary market. If you want to buy retail, buy when you want it, and can afford it. Don't wait around, hoping prices will drop, and definitely don't get upset if you do buy now, and prices DO drop.

I don't think the holidays really affect the prices, esp if you're buying from a reputable dealer who isn't swindling you.

I only intend to buy from a vendor with an upgrade policy, so no secondary market for me. It's just that based on a post from a vendor? or appraiser I can't remember, it was mentioned that traditionally Sept to Dec are really busy times for purchasing. So far the stones I have been looking at have been snatched up or placed on hold quickly, so I feel as if inventory, at least from my perspective, is low (or rather, demand is high). I wonder if inventory would ramp up closer to the holidays. I don't anticipate much of a price drop to be honest, more likely a price increase!
