My fiancé and I are in the process of purchasing an upgraded engagement ring. At first, we decided to go with a 1.5 carat (7.5mm) moissanite ring. We received the ring and are not 100% happy with it. Mostly because of the "rainbow effect" it gives off. Clarification: we are very happy with the ring/setting, but not the gem. So now, we are looking for a diamond engagement ring and have narrowed down some specifics:
Budget for the diamond = $8,000
Carats = 1.3 – 1.5 (is it possible to distinguish 1.3 to 1.5 to the naked eye?)
Color = G-H
Cut = Ideal
Clarity = SI1 or VS2 (not sure if VS2 is necessary?)
Certification = GIA or AGS
Shape = Round
We have found the following, but without seeing in person, I am not sure if these are the best options given our budget. Will the following options be comparable to the moissanite without the "rainbow effect"?
