Hi,

Just got some preview images of my engagement ring from Steven Kirsch, I will pick it up this coming Monday. However after staring at it religiously, I kind of notice something near the top of the image. You guys think its dust or a chip? Now im extra nervous. WHen i got the diamond from GOG, I didn't notice it chipped, I took it to Manhattan Appraisers and Bill Carr didn't mention it being chipped. Am I just worrying about nothing?

It's probably my 40yr old eyes but I don't see any chips. I think I see light reflecting on the girdle??

I hope so, when i zoom in on the images on my ipad, the top edges don't look well rounded.

I'm not seeing one (on my phone). The second, profile image looks perfectly round to me. It's a beautiful ring she is going to love it!!

I also think it is the way the light is reflecting on girdle facets.

there is a band of metal circling the stone, it looks to me that you are seeing a reflection off that. like, part of the basket, if you know what i mean.

Another vote for just a weird reflection, but do make sure to look at it with a loupe just in case! And also run your fingernail around the edge. My center stone (sapphire) has a chip or inclusion or something on the edge that I can't see with a 10x loupe but I can feel with my fingernail.

Update: Stupid me was just being nervous and worried for no reason. Got the ring from Steven and it was immaculate. True professional and expert craftsmanship on his part. I was amazed at the work he did. Gotta learn how to take better pics of the future fiancee's ring.

Beautiful ring! I'm glad it wasn't chipped. But I concur that it looked chipped or at least out-of-round in that photo. Just to be redundantly paranoid, examine it very closely and make sure there isn't a chip hidden under a prong. Hope all is well.
