Is Mr. Clean safe for sapphires? What other cleaner is safe?

I was wondering if anyone uses ammonia free Mr. Clean on their sapphires? I've read that it cleans really well but does that apply to sapphires as well? I've been using dawn soap, but my sapphire ring is still a little cloudy. I took it to Kay's for a quick clean, and it was noticeably better. What jewelry cleaner do you use for sapphires? Thank you!

What is the metal type of your setting? The sapphire can take it but the answer really depends on whether your ring is gold or platinum. There is no worry if it is platinum. If it is gold, make sure the solution is ammonia-free.

My jeweller suggests diluting the cleaning solutions with some water so they wouldn't be too harsh on the stones but still do the cleaning job, coupled with a very soft brush.
