Hello Pricescopers!

My vendor is currently in Antwerp and he offers a following stone, graded by HRD Ant.:

0,51 I, VS2 Ex,Vg,Ex

5,12-5,18 mm / 3,18mm

table 57%,

total depth 61,7%,

crown 14,5%

pavilion 43,5%

What I do not have right now is crown&pavilion angle but my concern is isn't it - only heights being known - too deep steep anyway.

All your thougts are most appreciated b/c I am really in hurry.

HI Pecel,
Based on the measurements, I don't see any reason to call this a "steep deep"
Or, put another way- if a stone has the proper spread for weight ( this one does) and you don't see any visual deficit, the term "steep deep" is used inappropriately all too frequently

It has a good HCA score, under 2.0
Next I'd get Idealscope pics.

I'd also get the crown and pavilion angles - which are more accurate for the HCA.

The crown is a little flat, but this isn't what I'd call a "steep and deep".

Thank you for your answers. In the end I decided to buy another stone (being pushed for time a bit).

0.53 H VS2 Ex/Vg/Ex

Table: 57%
TD 61.2%
PA 40.9 deg

and... what worries me now:
CA 33.7 deg

Although HCA gives this stone 1.1, I'm still a bit confused. Do you think this shallow crown can affect in any noticeable degree the performance of my stone?

This is a detailed grading rep. of this diamond http://www.hrdantwerplink.be/?record_number=11011278005&weight=0.53&L=

Thanks in advance!

Why? That's a more acceptable crown angle.

In short - it's fine.

Would you notice a difference btwn this stone and one w/ a 35 crown listed on paper? Possibly, if have keen vision and have ample time to spend comparing. Btwn this one and a 34 crown on paper? Possibly, depending on what went into that 34/33.7 average, and if you have keen vision and you have ample time to spend comparing. Btwn this one and a 33 crown on paper? ...

None of those would be objectively better than the others though. If your eyes like what they see when they look at your stone don't give it another worry :sun:
