Is the very TOP picture for educations purposes? or is it an actual diamond (taken from ideal scope page)?

All ideal top of the line cuts on websites I've searched show me idealscopes like this:

excell.jpg

I'm sure both are great i'm just curious to know if it's even possible to have a diamond as pictured in the top picture?
would i be able to find this seraching through all the online vendors here. what are your suggestions?

I can't seem to be happy with ANY idealscope images I see for a cut above on whiteflash...

nothing compares to the ones I see on this forums from some users. but I can't find any...for example where did this person find diamonds with idealscopes like this:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/pick-the-idealscope.35758/

hmm i notice different vendors have generally different idealscope images..(i understand they are different between each diamon)

I'm talking about the picture...

for example here is a james allen: http://www.jamesallen.com/_images/idealscope/DX085id.jpg
and you've
1.13 E VVS2 1.3-EX
ex-ex-ex-vg 0
H&A 60.7% 57% 34.5° 40.8° thn-med no ex ex no 6.75*6.80*4.11

14310 price

and compare that to a whiteflash with almost the same stats..the idealscope has a totally different appearance..

I think I see what you are saying, do you mean you want an Idealscope image which is completely red with no white? Then if you are shopping at WF, you want to look for the New Line ACA which have all red IS, the Classic Line have the white areas which are intentional leakage. Contact WF and explain this and see what they can find for you, both styles and result from top notch cutting and are lovely but a matter of taste.

Lorelei has a good point. But, that said, have you actually seen a stone with a ''perfect'' idealscope image (I assume you mean no white at all when you say perfect) versus a Classic ACA for example. Apparently the differences are very slight and you will only see them when you have them pointed out to you (this is what''s basically said on the WF site, the part where they talk about what is an aca etc). They both have their good points (albeit slightly different) and many cannot tell the difference apparently - they are both SPARKLY!!

Do you want a stone that has no white in the IS image because you like the look of that particular type of stone, or are you getting hung up on the IS image? ACAs are stunning stones! No matter which one, Brian handpicks them as the best of the best. So, I would suggest maybe not to stress about the IS images quite so much - any ACA will be a killer and you won''t be disappointed.

Whiteflash doesn''t produce the New Line anymore.
With a little luck, they can sell you the diamond that somebody brought back for an upgrade.
You can buy an EightStar, they sell diamonds with totally red & black Ideal- or Firescope pictures.

Useful info thanks Stephan, I did wonder as I hadn't seen a NL type IS for ages.

Hello Lorelei!

It''s always a pleasure to read you, you are such a friendly, helpful person!
I''ve attached the Firescope picture of my EightStar diamond.

WOW!!! Your IS for the recut is SPECTACULAR!!!!

wowww...niceee! thanks to everyone

I have a quetion though..If there isn't much black in yours, would it not scintillate more? b/c of contrast...so have the right star and lower girdle facet proportions is important here, no?

Your question about scintillation is difficult to answer: you can have a lot of smaller spots or fewer but bigger flashes, that''s a matter of taste.
Diamonds cut to obtain a red IS tend to have bigger flashes of fire and less pinpoint fire.
If you want such a diamond, EightStar will cut it for you, and even if Whiteflash doesn''t sell them anymore, they probably can cut such a diamond for you on request.
You just have to know that such diamonds won''t obtain "excellent" GIA cut grade because of the painted girdle. But I love them!
