I think you need a 1.5. The difference between a .94 and a 1.3 is not very significant. Spend what you would on a fancy Leon on the stone instead. Keep it awhile in a simple setting and then if you are still happy with the size go for the Leon. Once you have a Leon custom made you can''t change the stone and keep the setting. His settings are made for your exact stone size. So you don''t want to get DDS after you have a custom setting made.

Yeah I agree. I have a feeling that if you upgrade to a 1.2, 1.3 that you''ll want bigger in another few months. I''d wait until you can get a bit bigger like 1.5.

I agree with you about being sure before going ahead with the Leon - that''d be really bad! So Lisa Marie if you''re going to change your mind please call Leon asap and tell him to hold the works!
However I do have to disagree about the size difference. For a well cut 0.9 you''re looking at about 6.2mm6.3mm,(ish) whereas for a 1.25 it will be ~7mm. Not to mention, at least imho, there is the size jump that visually occurs once you get over a carat.
Lisamarie, if you''re having doubts now best to back out, especially like swingirl said if you''re having Leon make your setting. I think 1.2 is a lovely size - infact I''m looking forward to my 1.25 soon!

I would never mistake a .9 for a 1.3.

Yeah, financially we''re in good shape. We just bought our first house last year and are contributing a good amount to our 401ks. The only thing holding me back is knowing that I could spend the extra money on furnishing the guest bedroom or, better yet, on our future wedding. There are so many other things that are more tangible than .5mm of diamond. I''m so torn!
can you wear a sofa on your finger 24/7? nope!. does that desk or bed sparkle like a ball of fire? nope!
are there more important things than diamonds? nope!
DF, my American BF, is very wise and he is absolutely right!

I do however think that for the extra dollars spent there is not a massive difference between the 1.3ish range and a 1.5ct. Yes you can see a visual difference but it is not that major for me personally 7mm+ is a sweet spot :D.

Thank you everyone for voting! I''ll let you guys know what I decide. My major problem is that I already shipped my diamond to Leon last week so if I do the upgrade, I''ll have to figure out the logistics of it all.

I can''t believe I''ve come such a long way in just a few weeks! My original choice was a .81 Novo (until the Tiffany salesperson placed it next to a super firey round brilliant). Then I went to the LA jewelry district to try on rounds and thought the 1 carats were too big! Now look at me - I want bigger. I swear, this forum is dangerous!
yep!! today a 1.25 ct, within the next few months a 1.75 ct and 1 yr from now....a 2+ ct

No worries - Leon doesn''t even have the stone yet. It''s still in shipment. Tha''s why I''m trying to decide now before he gets it.

There''s a 1.5ct J VS2 on GOG that looks really pretty. Not sure how I''d feel about a J in person though. Maybe I''ll go look around this weekend. The Leon classic setting is actually really affordable - around $1,600 so there not much I can pull from the setting budget for the stone.

Maybe I should wait a few years for a big jump to a colorless 1.5ct?

It''s hard to give advice to someone whose first diamond is .94 ct. when my first one was .24 ct. I would have been happy for many years (if not forever) with a diamond as gorgeous as yours. Would you need to trade it in to upgrade? Coz it would make an awesome pendant!

Thank you. I think you''ve helped me gain some perspective.

I think I''m going to keep my .94 until I can get that perfect 1.4ish stone. In the meantime, I''ll think about changing my setting to something with more bling.

How ''bout this Vatche Swan with diamond shoulders? I can''t get this one out of my mind. I love the way the prongs envelop (sp.?) the diamond.

Can''t attach the photo, although I know I have attached this one before. I''ll try again.

I just upgraded from a .90 RB to a 1.29 and you can definitely see the difference. It''s plenty big enough for me and I wouldn''t want anything any larger in a RB.

Couldn''t get it to work. Here is a link to a GoodOldGold video of the setting.

And here''s some bling for you:

Sorry, I''m just having fun!
Thanks for the ideas! I''m hoping once Leon gets my diamond, he''ll have some ideas of his own.
I imagine that Leon has a few ideas! LOL!
