is it bad to ask you to return the jewelry he gave you?

Generally, I''d say no. A gift is a gift.

If it was a family heirloom, or thousands of dollars, then asking for it would be acceptable in my book. Actually, if someone gave me either of those things and we later parted ways, I''d give it back to them without being asked.

I don''t think it''s that great an idea to give any family heirloom, highly sentimental, or extremely expensive item early in a relationship, or when very young.
