I''m sorry I posted this in "Show me the ring" forum. I guess I''d get better responses here.

I''m planning to buy new setting for my Radiant, and pretty much decided to have 3-stone look. I was talking and discussing what shape side stones work best for Radiant with sales person. I was thinking either Trillion or bullet shape side stones before I visited the store. Since center is 2.00ct Radiant, I don''t think Round or Oval works well. However store didn''t carry loose Trillion or bullet shapes, I couldn''t really picture how it looks like.... I wasn''t sure what I want to do, and sales person brought Dream diamonds and showed me how they look like with my radiant. They are beautiful stones, and it sure looked great with my radiant. Only thing that I''m concerning (except price) is that if I choose to have Dream diamonds as side stones, they stands out much more than my center stone. My radiant is very nice and sparkly, but it doesn''t stand chance with Dream diamonds..... My question is, would any of you consider having better cut stones as side stones?? Or is it a bad idea?? Both side stones are about .65cts. Thank you.

This has been asked before (about rounds) an dthe debate ended with "match the cut" - which I subscribe too.

It sounds odd to limit your choices down to what a certain store has to offer. I am sure it would not be hard at all to acquire a nice pair of sidestones no matter how crazy the shape. Actually, it would be even easier for the store (admitting they deal with diamond often and have a supplier other than HOF!) to supply some. Only they wouldn't bother

Have you seen THIS site? Plenty of models of radiants with side stones!

Otherwise, I am sure most sellers mentioned around this forum could provide sidestones matching your radiant...

Thank you for your response. Well reason why I need to stick with this one store is, I'm trading in one of my diamond. Because this is the original store I bought the diamond from, I can exchange for full price I paid for this diamond.

Anyway, they said that they can get me Trillions or whatever the shapes I want, however I really liked Dream cut diamond, just wasn't sure if it's a bad idea.....

If anyone have any other opinions or experiences I appreciate.

Thank you!!

Oh, this is easy for me. There is nothing like trapezoid sides for a radiant...It is truly amazing....Here is a pic....of course you could make the traps bigger than the ones shown...

And in my opinion, you want the side stones to COMPLIMENT the center....the dreams won't do that. There are two totally diff cuts and I think they will just detract from the center stone....If you don't like the traps, I say go for the trillions. On the other hand, you could always look for (if you don't have it already) an awesome radiant wedding band!

I agree with more. I personally prefer trapeziods and trillions in that order with radiants. Another option is two smaller radiants if you can find matching ones the same size. I'm not a big fan of the dream especially at it's price point.

But, what thy hay, if you like it, then that's all that matters

Like the others, I say stick to side stones that compliment the center stone, like traps and trills that will also have a similar brilliance to the Radiant. My second choice is always to match the cut... or in other words use two additional smaller radiants (like J.Lo's I think).

Using Dreams as side stones will distract from the radiant, but will also be expensive as heck.
