I''ve heard that AGS000 is very good... Just wondering whether the GIA triple excellence for cut, symmetry and polish is the same? If now, what''s the difference?
Thanks
Symmetry and Polish are fairly comparable but the ''cut'' grading issued by the AGS and GIA are somewhat different. A GIA excellent may not necessarily be a AGS0 (and vice versa although this is more unlikely). The GIA cut grading system is quite controversial on PS and a search of the forums can provide quite a lot of information as to why! As do the articles in the reviews section/diamond journal section.
The basic gist is that The AGS and GIA grade their diamonds using different methodology and criteria.
However, if you have a GIA triple excellent with a nice IS then you''re doing very well!
