Is anyone else feeling fearful with what’s happening?

I don’t support those who have an evil agenda. I fully support deporting those individuals.

I agree. Does that include our own citizens?

Our past administrations deported millions who came here illegally. Where was the outcry and outrage then?

It is the current methods being used that are causing the outrage.

Does that include our own citizens?

No

But jail is an option for those who act outside of the law

is the current methods being used that are causing the outrage.

And I think more of it has to do with how much people hate the person in charge. TDS. It’s real

I could argue we’re at this point because past administrations didn’t take control of the situation before it got to this extreme
And in some ways even contributed to this mess

It's difficult to trust the motives and methods of a habitual liar, sexual predator, and convicted felon.

I agree.

It’s definitely not ideal. Very imperfect
I wish things were different
I wish hate wasn’t taught
I wish we were all kinder to each other
I wish there was more compassion in the world
I wish people would live and let live

Deporter in Chief.
That was a nickname for potus at one time.
Clearly lots of folks were deported. But there were no masked thugs kidnapping innocent people off the streets.
Immigration violations are CIVIL not criminal.
But the current tone in our country is 100% anti-immigrant…. Or at least the loudest voices.
People are living in fear.
On radio talk shows I hear people full on approving deporting 10 millions "illegals".
Doesn't matter if they've been model citizens.
Let's zip tie'em and shackle them- and send them off to a "detention center".
And guess what?? We can actually charge the US government!
A few well connected people are making a whole lot of money on these kidnappings.
Judges, policeman, lawyers....all do their jobs UNMASKED.
So why do these "agents" hide their identities?????
As far as wag the dog, I mean bombing Iran........great to get our attention away from Marines on the streets of LA.
And now we New Yawka's can really get to live in fear!!
Forget street crime.
What better target for Iran than the Big Apple.....Yipee.

Many people in Israel are as opposed to Bibi as many of us are opposed to our current leaders.

Iran has fired missiles toward military bases in Qatar.

About 10,000 US troops are currently there.

I suspect this was a poke the bear move. Will the president carry out his threats to retaliate like no one has ever seen before in the history of the world.

ABC news is reporting this is a limited strike back and contained. Attention will fall back on how the US responds.. They stated this air base is well protected and they don’t believe any projectiles landed at the base. No casualties at this time and attack has ended.

I’m also waiting to hear what the president’s next act will be.

From Axios:

What they're saying: Iran's Supreme National Security Council released a statement claiming the number of missiles fired at Qatar was equal to the number of bombs the U.S. used in its strike on Saturday — signaling a desire to de-escalate.

  • "The base that was targeted in the attack by the powerful Iranian forces was far from urban facilities and residential areas in Qatar," the statement said.
  • "This action did not pose any threat to our friendly and brotherly country, Qatar, and its noble people."

It’s also being reported that Qatar was notified before the attack of what was going to happen. It appears this was a face saving mission and Iran is looking for an off ramp.

At the moment I’m more concerned with how our own ego manic will handle the situation. We all know diplomacy isn’t a strong suit with the current administration,

So I napped and woke up to the news that I and I have agreed to a ceasefire and war win end in 6 hours :(2

His plan seems to have worked
Ceasefire between Israel and Iran

“ There will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE”

Hoping this truly happens

❤️

No word yet on negotiations. Last we heard Iran and Israel were at loggerheads. Iran wants some freedom to enrich plutonium, Israel said no way, US said some enrichment but not up to weaponization level. Then US changed its position to Israel's. Iran may not have an option about enrichment considering Israel's military strength. Interesting times ahead.

Edited to add that the ceasefire seems too easy to me. I don't trust Iran and believe they still have surprises in store for us.

I'm naping in a very uncomfortable chair at Gary's hospital bed
Please America don't let Iran make nuclear weapons

I've heard vary accounts and statements about what is going on so I have no idea what is actually happening. Who to believe? Anyone?

I had a look just before
It's the middle of the day here
And yes it is hard to work out exactly what is what

Please may I ask a question
I am so out of the loop
Gary was very sick and I could only concentrate on him
Why is the UK on the travel warning list from the NZ government
It said a terriost threat I think and something I can't remember

Has something (else) happened ?

I really struggle when people ask this kind of question, because it's usually part of a response as to why it's okay now - two wrongs make a right kind of thing.

And this is hard for me, regardless of what side, because it's a deflection. It's taking the issue at hand and deflecting away from the actual conversation and into finger pointing "she did it, so why can't he" type stuff.

If it's wrong, it's wrong. If it wasn't handled correctly in the past - shouldn't we fix the present so that the future is better?

No two wrongs do not make a right
I am pointing out the hypocrisy
Huge
Selective outrage is not justice
Think about it

shouldn't we fix the present so that the future is better?

And that is exactly what is being attempted to be done right now
I am skeptical because it is hard to negotiate with terrorists and it is hard to work with those who only want you dead

It's easy to preach peace and be "anti-war" when the real threat isn't at your door.
When you're safe, moralizing is easy.

It's easy to talk down to people fighting for their lives, to label self-defense as"aggression" from behind a screen.
Yet somehow, some feel entitled to tell Jews and Israelis how to survive...

That's not morality, it's privilege, dressed up as principle.
It's virtue signaling.

We want peace but we do not have the luxury of being delusional because it's our lives at stake.
Peace is earned by standing up to those who seek your destruction, not by pacifying them.

And surprise surprise
Iran fired missiles at Israel after agreeing to a ceasefire
That was a very short ceasefire indeed

NYT source

Like I wrote before. It is challenging negotiating with those who only want you dead and your country destroyed
And if you do not think they feel the same about us (USA and other countries) you should rethink the facts

I apologize for this long post, it really took me a couple of days to write, and re-write. As I feel so strongly about this issue.

The Iranian regime has brutalized minorities for decades. Anyone who doesn’t fit their mold, or is a threat to their institution. It’s a goverment built on fear and silence…

Iran in the 50s, 60s and 70s…it was something else. Progressive, educated, alive. Instead, they handed the country over to a theocracy, and were still living with the consequenses.

My family has lived through both versions, the one before foreign powers helped crush a somewhat democracy, reinstalled a king, and later supported the rise of Khomeini.

We in the West can’t keep talking about this without context. This regime, like several others in the Middle East, didn’t appear out of thin air. The same goverments that now call Iran a threat helped create the vaccuum Khomeini and his clerics filled…that’s not a speculation or opinion, that’s history. If you want to know the reasons behind this, google it. Oil for example is a word that comes to mind…

I was born and raised in Europe. And live here. Some of my family’s still in Iran. But they don’t belong to the dominant religion in the country and their ethinicity is that of a minority in the country…So I know what oppression and repression look like. Not from headlines, but from their daily lives. And yes, sometimes it’s not nearly as bad as people imagine…And sometimes it’s way worse. But what always gets me is how quickly outsiders turn into “experts,” using our pain to sell their wars.

@missy you wrote that Van Jones said, “Iran is not a normal country”.

I don’t disagree with his description. But I do wonder, what exactly counts as a “normal” country anymore…? Because if “normal” includes bombing refugee camps, displacing civilians, starving people and calling it self defense, silencing journalists, criminalizing dissent, beating protestors, gassing crowds,, taking away a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body, debating whether toddlers should be taught about sex, locking children in cages at borders, and letting people die over insulin prices while calling it freedom…then maybe the word has lost all meaning...

There’s a looong history here…Militias funded by the west one decade become enemies the next…

Elected leaders get overthrown, then blamed for the instability that comes after…

And the cycle repeats, with new names, new borders, same outcome. Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya....etc...

And let’s be honest, it’s not about what’s done, it’s about how well it’s packaged.

Bomb a hospital with the wrong flag, and you’re labeled a terrorist. Do it with the right one, and suddenly it’s a strategic operation.

That’s not justice ,that’s PR. That’s entitlement…And more than anything, that’s power.

They feed us the same lines every time, no matter the country…“They want us gone”…“Death to the enemy.”…“It’s for our safety.”

That’s how they string along the people, us.
With fear. Loyalty. Manufactured enemies. And it works, again and again. It’s a vicious cycle.

The flag changes. The religion changes. But the rhetoric almost always stays the same. And the ones paying the price are as i wrote in an earlier post, almost always the people. Us.

We need to realize that terrorists don’t all wear masks or live in the Middle East. Some wear suits and live in the West.

And real change will begin when we use our voices…and our votes….to choose leaders in our communities and countries, who act with integrity and humanity, not dogma or ideology. Especially not religion. That’s when we might start to see real, lasting change. I know this is not of popular opinion. But I’m so tired of how much of a we and them religion can create when used wrongly…

Peace starts with accountability. For everyone. And with love for all people, not the love of power...

But for now I’m feeling thankful over the fact that I just recieved the first voice message in days from my loved ones… Saying they’re okay.

There was no outrage because none of the prior presidents conducted deportations in the outrageous manner of the current one.
tRump administration holds the record for more family separations than any other president. Biden administration deported 4.4 million; Obama administration 3 million; George W Bush administration, 5 million during his second term. All of them without the level of drama, use of force, and denial of due process exhibited by the tRump administration.

Using an expletive in remarks to reporters, Mr. Trump said that the two adversaries did not know what they were doing, and sharply criticized Israel for firing on Iran “right after we made the deal.”

Part of the difficulty in sorting out the competing claims was that Trump’s social media post announcing the ceasefire said Iran would begin holding its fire hours earlier than Israel. He later, however, announced that the ceasefire was in effect, even though the window he initially gave for Israel had not yet closed.

From someone I know who lives in Israel

"

The ceasefire was broken by the IRGC this morning — how do I know? I’m here in Israel.
I had to scoop up my children and run for shelter.

One of those Iranian missiles struck a residential building in Beersheba, murdering four civilians — including members of the same family.

In the past 12 days, Iran’s regime has targeted civilians daily:
Nearly 30 people killed
Thousands injured and displaced

So Mr. President, with all due respect — please check your facts. We’re living them."

Nope. Many families were torn apart by the previous administrations. I shared the facts but ella deleted them since it went against the rules since I mentioned the president's names and the statistics right by each name
No drama perhaps because TDS was not in play since DT was not involved
Just a thought

Yes
And you’re right not a popular opinion
The masses believe social media
Amd one thing Israel doesn’t do well is PR
but for anyone interested the truth, the facts are out there
Just takes some digging and not allowing yourself to be fooled by those who have pr down to a science

TY for taking the time to share viola and may your family remain well and safe

New ruling

To date this administration has deported 70-140,000 depending on the source you read. Much less than other administrations. Yes that could change but if you look at the numbers from previous administrations those deportations were in the millions
