Is a Two Week Wait Time for an Initial CAD Normal?

Boyfriend put order confimation for stone and custom setting through last Thursday evening. He was told today that it wold take 2 weeks for an initial CAD. The design is in no way complicted as it is a simple solitaire that is based on a setting that they already make. Is this wait time normal?

For others who have ordered custom rings, how long did your CAD take?

yes I think that's normal? I think that's around how long mine took (but I don't remember?)

I ordered my stone & setting, it's not custom setting and takes about 2 weeks for it to be done.

Yes I think the 2 week turn around is a normal estimated time. It may not take that long, but I think you are basically in a queue. You have to wait your turn.

Yep. It took two weeks for us to get the CADs and another two weeks for the ring to be completed.

Thanks for your replies, I got all paranoid reading other threads on PS about one and three to five day turn around times for CADs. It turns out I won't be receiving a CAD since my ring is only semi-custom. Two to three weeks to complete the whole thing. I hope it turns out.
