Maybe GOG should come out with, 'A Cut Better', then BGD could come out with, 'A Cut Superior' and James Allen could have, 'A Cut Finer'.
But then which would be better, ACS, ACA, ACB, ACB, or ACF?

Seriously, I think it's tacky how closely ERD copied Whiteflash's ACA trade name. :nono:
It makes me think less of ERD, and refer friends to Whiteflash.

:!: Let's just say I think they could have been a bit more original!!!!

BGD's named their H&A line Cut Beyond Brilliant I think. Alphabet soup indeed!!

I just heard WalMart is introducing their new line, 'A Cut Below'. :o
Zales quickly followed with ACB, A Cut Beneath.

And Tiffany is introducing their ACO line, A Cut Overpriced.
Robbins' Brothers quickly went after Tiffany for their ACO line, arguing Tiffany was trying to benefit from the panache of Robbins' Brothers ACO line of EGL diamonds, A Cut Overgraded.

There's only so many TLA's (three letter acronyms) available, but I've often wondered why diamond folks want to name their lines after hair salons and lawn care operations.

These are funny!

DeBeers has a new one: The World's Most Perfectly Controlled Cut, with their Monopoly range replacing Forevermark.

The thing is, A Cut Above actually means something - it references a unit of measurement, a cut above the rest. The rest are just, at best, referencing that line! Oy.

Further proof that the world needs more English majors. It isn't impossible to think of different ways to say "superlative" in a way that references the diamond trade.

I actually laughed out loud. But my husband did not find it funny at all.

i love "A PRIME CUT" rib eye steak... :lickout:

Yes I agree that it is too close.

Whenever I see "A Cut Beyond" I immediately think of Whiteflash.

Bhahaha

I needed a good laugh this morning, this post is too funny!

Somehow, I predict another The North Face vs. The South Butt type of squabble ensuing.

It’s not always possible to take the “imitation is the highest form of flattery’ approach when it comes to trademarks and copyrights. But sometimes you do just have to laugh. Thanks Kenny!

We just checked and A Cut Behind and a A Cut Over Yonder are still not taken :lickout:
