Is a 1.20ct or 1.50ct. too small for a finger that is a 5 1/2 in size?

1.20 carat diamond should have about 6.9 mm in diameter. 1.50 - about 7.43 mm.

Gem, I have the same size fingers, plus fairly long hands. My engagement ring is just under 1 carat and looks wonderful. I don't think you would have a problem with that size. You could also try on that size ring at your local jewelry store just to get an idea how it would look on your own hand. Good Luck, KB
