hi everyone -

i am getting my wedding band custom made with OEC stones. we already have 2 which are heirloom stones. one stone is 3.43mm in diameter (2.7mm deep) and the other is 3.7mm (2.5mm deep). Old World Diamonds has sourced 3 more for us to make a 5-stone ring which range from 3.6mm-3.7mm in diameter and 2.3-2.5 in depth.

my first question would be if the diameter between the 3.43 stone and the 3.7 stone(s) have a visually significant difference? and my second question is would the differences in diameter and depth make it difficult to make a wedding band?

thanks in advanced!

yap, should be noticeable. Do a graduated 5 stone design and trust the vendor to find matching OEC for you?

thanks stone-cold... would it be a problem if i requested for that stone to be one of the end stones?

The vendor will match them and place them accordingly, depending on what he finds.

There will be some slight difference.

I too think that''s a visually significant difference in size - as in, you''ll see it close up and far away if the two are next to each other.

Ditto on the graduated stone idea - I have a 5 stone OEC ranging from .25 to .38. I can see the diff in the 3 center stones, though it flows nicely: .33, .38, and .36.

ooh brellymom your ring is beautiful!

It will be a noticable difference, I could tell the difference of .20mm in 1.7 vs. 1.8ct diamonds and it would be much more noticable in smaller stones. It is almost 10% of the diameter!
