I received a .45 wgt ring in 1995. It was sold as 1/2 carat by LeRoy's jewelers. Is this legal?:wavey:

If the ring has one diamond weighing .45ct, then I totally agree with Garry... Not legal.

If the ring has multiple stones and was a part of a large collection of rings sold as "approximately 1/2 ct range", then you may or may not have a legal issue.

If the ring was a used ring and the seller never knew the exact weight, it is something that you might be able to work out with the seller in the form of a credit or financial adjustment...It won't be major.

A lot depends on what you time is worth, how bad you feel about it, and how nice and cooperative the merchant is. If you act nice it may be easier to work out than if you are angry... Things happen and good people make it right.
