Is 25% price above Rappaport a good deal or bad?

Hello all you wise owls.

I have found a local mom and pop jewelry store that says they can sell me whatever diamond I want for 25% above the rappaport price. They even pulled out the most current rappaport sheet and showed me all the different combinations and prices and let me examine until my eyes started to cross.

Is 25% above rap the standard markup? better? worse?

25% over Rap is a lot to pay! You can save yourself probably 30-35% over B&M store prices by buying from one of the vendors who advertise on Pricescope.

NOT ALL B&M's

I just wanted to add that there are B&M stores that are:

Ready, Willing and very able to compete with "internet only" pricing.

I am assuming that there are others, besides me.

Granted, there may not be many B&M's than will compete on price alone when giving B&M services with the sale, but I don't think a rational consumer would expect something for nothing.

IMO, B&M's bring unique advantages to the table that some consumers don't mind paying a little more for.

"anything I want at 25% above Rap" (not anything you want from their selection, which places some dillema on your hands) - well, than sure! It would be a decent valuation for an ideal cut H&A stone and very much ok for some of the branded cuts out there. Why not. Hm... It's always good to keep looking

25% above rap these days is highway robbery,he should be put in jail,buy from vendors here on PS.
