I''ve seen all levels of pricing for irradiated blues, and all qualities for that matter. More good than bad. However, I met my fiance while sailing (hence the name), and we would really like to incorporate a blue diamond into a "bridal gift" right before the wedding.
On a stone with verified specs of
VS1 Clarity, Completely eye clean
No clarity enhancements
Vivid fancy blue (colored similar to "The Big Blue" posted elsewhere in this forum)
Princess Cut (Good - but I will skip specs)
1.1ct
What sort of price range should I anticipate paying?
Obviously, those eBay rings should be of matched price quality, but I have seen very few other stones similar to the one I am considering. I will probably pick it up anyway, for its light, rare blue color and clean and filling/clarity enhancement free quality -- but is there an outrageous price on a stone like that?
It is, after all, an irradiated stone!
Thoughts?
