Unfortunately, this weekend is not going to work for me to travel to Peoria. We are moving to a new house soon and I have serious packing to do and can''t afford to lose a whole day.


I would love to meet some PS ladies sometime...

If there could be more people who could meet in the QC, that''s fine with me. Like I said, I''ve got that endoscopy on Monday anyway. I could just skip this one and try to make the next GTG. I just think that as many PSers that could get together as possible would be the best.

ETA: Starset, Go You Redbirds! I''m a recent alum - ''05, ''07. Have you been to campus recently? I just drove through B-N two weeks ago, and I can''t believe how much it has changed in just the year since I left. They''ve started building the Alumni center in the old Eagle building and my jaw dropped when I read they''re finally going to tear down Walker/Dunn-Barton...my mom lived there in ''70. Can''t wait to meet you, I''m sure we''ll have to swap some ISU stories.

I went there last Christmas but just drove down Beaufort to see the old ''downtown'' area of campus. It seemed the only things still there were the bookstore and "Mother Murphys." Ate lunch at a really good irish pub though.

They''re gonna tear down Walker/Dunn-Barton? Were those the all girl dorms on the West side of the quad?

Oooh, I''m going to guess you went to Maggie Miley''s! It opened during my senior year and is quite the hot spot for grad students - I spent lots of time there with my classmates I was very against the downtown revitalization project because it was going to crowd out small businesses (I still think that the fancy hotel across from Watterson is the worst idea ever...I wouldn''t want to stay there on a weekend!) but I have to admit, I think the new businesses do add a lot to campus. I just hope that the smaller places can continue to thrive as well.

Yupp - Walker was the all-female one, and Dunn-Barton was co-ed and supposed to be an "upper classman/transfer" dorm but considering it didn''t have air conditioning and, last I checked, it didn''t have wi-fi internet (dial-up only), it was full of freshman who got stuck there. My junior year, we actually had people sleeping in our apt''s living room (right across from Zorba''s) because it was so brutally hot in their dorm rooms. I figured it would probably get torn down at some point, but it''s still strange to me!

Soooo...about this weekend...

Since it''s only 3 of us and not really convenient for Somethingshiny....maybe we should try for another weekend?? I agree...this really would be more fun if a bunch of us were there. Thoughts??

I''m still in if it''s in Peoria, I just want everyone to be able to come. We could do this weekend and then later in the summer nearer to the QC or something?

Okay, What dates are best for the rest of the summer?

I can''t do May24/25, May31/June1 (graduations), Father''s Day weekend, or the weekends of August 16th and 23rd.

Father''s day weekend and 4th of July I''m assuming are out. However, maybe a few have a nice long weekend for the 4th. And, I bet we could find some 4th of JULY sales!

The weekends are:
