Hi,
I stumbled upon this forum and have been lurking for a little while now. I am blown away to see there are so many people like me here. I have spent hours and hours reading posts and thinking "that is me" about so many of them. My husband could not care any less about jewelery but I have a brother that is as bad as I am. I went to see him just this week (to show off my new upgrade) and told him all about this site. I think he is lurking around now too. Anyway I told him of reading a thread about jewelery pet peeves and how one of the ladies in that thread said she takes her cleaner to work to clean her co-workers rings and they thought she was a fanatic about it when she dried them with canned air. So I told my brother how even I was thinking this was crazy and at the exact same time thinking, "where can I get some canned air". Well he starts laughing and looks at me serious and we both say at the same time, "I'll bet we could get that at Wal-mart"!
I was just reading Mara's thread about her upgrade and couldn't help but laugh about all the talk of the negotiations we have to make in this thing called marriage. I always tell my husband his toys are all in the garage and mine are all on my finger. (By the way Mara if you see this I think the naked cartwheels are a great idea when you get your new ring and if you do them often enough you might not have to wait that extra 8 years to upgrade!) Anyway, my original e-ring was VERY tiny and we have upgraded it many times. My husband and I have been married 21 years and I always want to upgrade my ring. Many, many birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases, kids births, etc. have been occasion to do so. When we did that though we actually returned the diamond and or mounting I had and got a credit toward the one I wanted. We also did it in very small financial amounts. The store I got my center stone from closed in 2000 so I don't think we will ever upgrade it again but we upgraded the mounting just this last week. Anyway, I hope I haven't rambled to much. I am going to try to post pics of my new ring too. I don't know all the specs like you guys seem to but I will post what I know. Also I LOVE seeing all of your rings so for mysake keep posting pics! Thanks!!!
Center stone: 2.10 VS2 J color
larger stones around center: .35 SI2 H color
tiny ones on sides: .08 I1 H color (not thrilled with these)
All in all a real stunner in my opinion though!
4.50 tw for everything
