So I''d like to introduce you to Stretch, the newest four-legged member of our family

A little more info on him: He is a retired thoroughbred racehorse that never did very well on the track; he won only about $30,000 lifetime. He has been retrained to do english pleasure riding and jumping, and he really is a sweetie (but he can be real stubborn sometimes lol

). My avatar is him begging me for a carrot.

And I figured that a horse was the best sibling for Rascal the cat, since Rascal can still believe he is an only child

lol.

Belated congratulations!! I just love thorougbreds, they have always been a favorite of mine.

And yeah, I''ve been away from PS for a while, busy with studying for the bar exam unfortunately and trying to find a job lol.

Thanks so much! He is 14 years old. We originally estimated he was 10, but after reading his tattoo, we confirmed his real age.

No, you guys aren't completely crazy. I've been riding Stretch with the permission of his prior owner for about three or four years.

And my original screenname was Stretch4

He''s 16.3 hands. While that isn''t huge, compared to most of the other horses at the barn, he is gigantic!

I grew up with an Apaloosa named Cricket, she was the sweetest thing but I never got to ride her--she foundered when she was about 19 but we kept her well for many more years. She loved sugar cubes, carrots, apples, and Werther''s candies!

I miss her still, she was such a sweetheart. She actually "mothered" a few Holstein calves on my parents'' farm who needed a friend/mama figure! Forgive me, I couldn''t help but relate something about her here, and I find myself doing so every time I see a new horsie on PS!
