More to come ...

PS: Sorry I haven''t been around much lately as we''ve been extremely busy. All emails and web operations are flowing smoothly while we under construction though.

If you want to see some of the most insane scintillation open the GemAdvisor file put it in disco light (direct light conditions) and hit the green play button. Hehe... I'm having some fun in the lab before I leave for the night.

interesting.

Is this something your going to carry or just something your playing with?

Looks interesting.

Okay, I give up, how do I find it on your site and how do I put it in the gem advisor?

The attachment is at the bottom of his second post next to the picture of the paperclip.

What's this cut called?

Nice to see what a few more facets can do to the good old RBC

Thank you, but now I can not open the attachment. More help is needed by the computerly illiterate...

DEFINETELY going to carry. It is an 80 faceted modified round brilliant diamond. It displays the arrows but it's alot more than that. If you've read my tutorial on the red scopes you know that more blacks = more hot spots (ie. light being directed at the high angles) and this diamond has an appearance that is absolutely striking. Just got my first batch in yesterday and I am captivated. I've seen many modified rounds with more than 57-58 facets but never have I seen one cut like these. It loses nothing in way of spread and it's brilliance, fire and scintillation have a different appearance than that of H&A rounds. I haven't even ran them on all our equipment as of yet but I can tell you they are generally of very high scoring B'scope stones. Once I complete some more tests and photographs we'll feature a full tutorial and perhaps showcase it on Leonid's "under the loupe" section.

I will be waiting.

Jonathan, can we see a real photo of the stone? I'm really curious!

Snap!

Are you snapping that stone up? Certainly it's tempting

Sadly, no. Just agreeing with Hest.

Wow, looking forward to seeing photos and learning more about this new cut. Does it have a name? I will be in the market for a small round for a right hand ring for the missus and always like to be a little different.

No offense, but I'm not exactly sold YET. I love the classic RIBC is b/c of it's standard, tried and true, 57-58 facet design. I haven't really been impressed by modifications on it. I can't wait to see microscopic photos in varying lights of the new cut to compare.

A quick internet search, and it seems that this cut belongs to K.R. Gems and Diamonds, International and their soon to be website for the stone is:

Ugh... That name stinks. It takes you like 3 tries to say it right. That's what you want in brand recognition.

Me too, VH. I'm not a fan of the cut glass look in rounds, and from the 2 pics I've seen so far, that's what this looks like to me. However, seeing it "in action"may change my mind there.

and yes -- they paid their naming company way too much for that effort.....

edited to add: I just noticed your new tag line addition VH. Congrats -- keep on keeping us amused

Interestingly enough, GoodOldGold isn't on their retailers list at all... but someone called "Wooden Skate" is!
