I am a Canadian living in Japan. We would like to insure our engagement ring, but it doesnt look like it is possible to insure only the ring here. They say something of this expense (its only been appraised at $8000) becomes insured under household insurance. Needless to say we are not householders.
Where can we get the ring insured? I have all of the paperwork including sales receipt, GIA certificate for the diamond, and an appraisal from 2002 that was conducted in Amerca.
