Insurance for Ring

I have been on here alot to know that most of you use Jewelers Mutual. I just applied with them online. But couldn't read the whole policy as far as damage goes. I am hoping some of you have used them and can give a little bit of info. My homeowners will not cover if it gets chipped or cracked by any jeweler. I thought that was odd. It basically only covers theft or loss but that would be too hard to prove anyway so it wasnt worth it for me to use them.

I've never heard that it was necessary to prove loss or theft. I was under the impression that in the case of theft a police report was enough and that they took your word as to loss. I'd be interested in hearing what others have to say as well. Jewelers Mutual does cover the stone in the event of damage.
