Insurance for Non-US residents

Hi:

I am looking to get the recent engagement ring I purchased insured, but I am not a US or Canadian resident. Although most of the insurance companies list their coverage as “worldwide”, you will only by covered if you reside in the US and some cases Canada. Any recommendations for an insurance company that will insure your ring regardless of where you reside?

I am sort-of in the same boat.. sorry I don't have any help. However, I hope someone else has a good answer. I have been looking for insurance for the last two weeks I live in the US but my fiancee is finishing up college in Germany and since she 'resides' in Germany no one will insure it.

A few companies say that I should be able to add it on a home policy like you would in the US in Germany also, but we haven't tried this yet.

My guess is that you need an insurer in your country of residence. Maybe repost and put...Insuring diamond ring in France? (or whatever country) in the title and see if anyone from that country replies.
