Inscription Info

I am appraising a round brilliant with an inscription on it that begins with IR and then a 5 digit number. Is anyone aware of a lab that uses IR in their cert #s?

Usually irriadated for colored diamonds.

I've never seen IR in a non-colored diamond, so it could be a lab mark. But if so, its unlikely to be one of the bigger labs. Maybe a trade member can comment?

The diamond is not a colored diamond.

Call GIA. They should be able to help you.

It could be a logo of a company. Gemscribe is a tool that can do this.
