Hi, was hoping to get comments from Storm and anyone else who has 2 cents to offer on the relative merits of these two diamonds. Both have my interest.

Both score excellent on HCA and I expect are really nice. Both are near same price because larger stone is one step down in both color and clarity.
Would the first stone be noticably larger?

My main question is: Since the larger (first) stone has 75% LGF and the smaller (second) has 77%, would the first most likely be a "larger bursts, fewer sparkles, more fire, good low light performer" while the second is more balanced?

Thanks

if not for the size, i would bet a large sum of money (and i ain''t a bettin'' woman!) that you couldn''t tell them apart. your eye cannot perceive the difference between 75% & 77%
don''t get hung up on the minutia.

thanks belle, but the minutia is the fun part! ;)

does your opinion apply to the size difference as well?

edit: oh sorry, I see you already commented on that too.

check out threads like this one, the first post by strmdr is telling: one of many

There are a lot more and some very educational links in some of them. From my limited study I understand shorter LGF will create LESS fire--thus confusing me as to why you said that the 75 would have "more fire" than the 77?

Yes I read that one, and I guess my brain is overloading on the terms. I was associating larger bursts = more spectral range = more fire (ie, the various colors can be discerned more clearly in the larger bursts, and that''s fire). Perhaps I need to review diamonds 101 before I move on to 201.
