Hello all, was lurking, now posting. I have inherited a diamond which was purchased in 2002 from Tiffany in Chicago. It's in the Tiffany classic setting. The certificate (only Tiffany, not GIA or AGS) has the following details:
Round brilliant
Color I
Clarity VS2
0.82ct
6.00 x 6.03 x 3.72 mm
Crown angle 34.6
Pavilion depth 42.7 (doesn't say anything about pavilion angle which is what I usually read about on here - calculating it using tan-1(number/50) as I read online suggests it may be 40.5?) ARGGH editing again as other reading suggests it might be 40.6, anyone know)

Girdle - medium to slightly thick, faceted
Culet - none
No fluorescence
VG symmetry
VG polish
Obviously am very grateful for this unexpected gift and will value it regardless, but as it needs a good clean (the back is quite caked with dirt...) was just curious as to how it might scrub up and measure up by PS standards. I asked at Tiffany when I dropped it off for sizing and just got the "all our diamonds are exquisite cut" shpiel back which I know from reading here isn't true.
Also for those who have the Tiffany classic setting would be interested to know if it's easy to wear, whether it gets in the way etc. It felt VERY obtrusive when I tried it on but I'm used to a plain band and it's much too big right now. But I would like to wear it regularly.
