Information Needed to make purchase ASAP!!!

Provided this information: Does this seem like a quality European Cut Diamond? I LOVE European Cut Diamond''s and all old diamonds, but know nothing about them, other than surface information like 4 C''s...

CAn someone give me some help/advice about this diamond and if it''s a good one or not, please!?

This is a circa 1920''s diamond and platinum engagement ring. The Art Deco period ring is in excellent condition and shows no damage or signs of repair. The center, round, European cut 1.66CTS diamond measures 4.7 MM deep and has a 61.3% depth and 54% table, medium girdle, small culet and no florescence. It is absolutely stunning with modern proportions for maximum brilliance and is of K color and VVS clarity. The diamond is superbly cut, polished and proportioned. This is truly one of the most brilliant European cut diamonds we have seen in a long time. The diamond is set in a solid platinum mount with squared prongs and is accented by two (2) gorgeous tapered baguette side diamonds of H color and VVS clarity totaling .14CT. That makes the total in all natural, genuine, untreated diamonds 1.80CTS. The ring comes with a certified appraisal by a GIA graduate gemologist for $14,550.00.

Do you have a picture? Does the seller have a good return policy? it''s hard to judge OEC''s based just on #''s but if you''ve seen it and love it then I would have it checked out by and independant appraiser to make sure it is what they are representing it as and that the price is in line. Some stores will allow the sale to be contigent upon the appraisal, others will give you a timeline for return so have the appt. with the appraiser set up b/f you buy the ring, take it straight there so you have pleny of time to return if it doesn''t check out.

Yes Erin, at minimum a picture would be helpful. That''s not enough info to judge if a RB is great, much less a stone as variable as an OEC. Make sure they have a solid return policy so you can both see it in person and take it to an appraiser (if you so desire) before the deal is completely finalized.

Yes, we need a photo to give you a more informed opinion as old cuts as totally different from each other.

Also, if you love it and want to get it, make sure there is a solid return policy and book an appointment with an INDEPENDENT APPRAISER BEFORE you take possession of the ring. That way you can go directly to the Independent Appraiser immediately and know right away what you actually have. FYI, just to make sure you understand what you''re getting, an appraisal from a "GIA Graduate" is NOT the same thing as a GIA cert. All it means is that the person who wrote the appraisal has taken GIA courses, which is why you''ll need an independent appraisal right after you get the ring...if you get it!

Unfortunately, I don''t know much about OEC''s, other than the fact that they are beautiful, but I did want to let you know that that diamond/ring sounds outstanding! I hope it is "okay''d" by the experts so that we can get to see it.
