Hello,

I am in the process of buying a pre loved item from Perth. I live in Sydney.

The sellers have accepted my offer, but I have a problem as I live so far away. We are trying to figure out a way to complete the transaction.

I am wondering, can I get them to drop off the item at an independent appraiser and I then can I wire the appraiser the money, and the appraiser sends the item to me?

Is this a service that an appraiser could even do?

Thanks you for any advice.

Some do. Most don't. Ask the appraiser you're considering using if this is a service they offer. This is called an escrow service and, in some markets, it's regulated and takes a license to do this. I haven't a clue what the Australian rules are but a professional valuer should know them.

Thank you very much Denver appraiser
