Independent Appraisal (in LA)

I just got the e-ring from exceldiamonds and want to get it appraised asap.

Calling around I have the following quotes and was wondering if the type or report or appraisal makes a difference:

est - $150 ($100/hr ~1.5hr)
can meet Sat, but report will probably be out on Mon/Tue

est - $65-85 (mini appraisal vs insurance report)
Sat, 45m-1h, wait
(didn''t know anything about Ideal/Brilliantscope, hand measure)

est - $65 (might be more for ins report)
Mon, 1hr, wait or dropoff


I do plan on getting insurance (at least for the first year). Time is also a factor since exceldiamonds has a 10day return policy.

2 sounds like the best option for price, but does using an idealscope or SARIN measuring make a difference for an appraisal?
