I have been helping my bff shop for a princess cut engagement for his girlfriend. He has narrowed it down to these four;

Carat Weight Measurement% Color Clarity Polish Syme Fluor Table Depth Date of GIA Price Jeweler

1.55 1.01 H VVS2 Good V. Good Faint Blue 71 71.5 7-6-07 9300 Independent

1.58 1.04 H VS1 V. Good V. Good None 71 73.5 1-29-10 9214 Costco

1.51 1.01 H VS2 Exc Exc None 73 72.1 3-23-10 9214 Costco

1.53 1.05 H VS2 V. Good V. Good None 71 74.2 8-10-10 9200 Indepe

All info gathered from GIA reports on the diamonds. Any advice and/or opinions are wholeheartedly welcome and the sooner the better (before I have to commit him to the psych ward).

Without knowing the cut quality of the diamonds, it's difficult to say. They seem like a decent price, if the cut is excellent.

However, I would probably recommend something like this diamond in a similar price range:

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2230986.htm ($9181 Pricescope wire price)

That way, you know for sure you're getting a very well cut (AGS Ideal) diamond.

yes the problem is that GIA does not grade the cut of princess cut diamonds so you really do not know anything about cut, which is the most important factor in determining how sparkly the diamond is. I would recommend going with an AGS0 princess or going with a vendor who provides ASET images for the diamonds.

Since GIA does not grade the cut quality of princess stones youbreally have no idea how well cut these stones are...
