Inclusion or Crack?

It looks like a feather which is like an internal ”crack”. Check with a Loupe for any surface reaching fissures or cracks by examining each facet with the light hitting it to see if you can see a line across any facet (s). If any inclusions are surface reaching that can affect the gems stability and possibly value as well.

Feather inclusion, which as said before is an internal crack. It does not look to have any bearing on the stone's stability to be set. Think of all the Emeralds that have a dozen feather inclusions but are still set in rings. Much more severe than your Sapphire.

I’ve had this Engagement ring close to a week and hadn’t noticed it. Today in the car the light hit it at the perfect angle and it was very clear. Now I can’t un see it when I look at it. If I walk into a jeweler could they tell me? :cry2:

That's nothing that will effect the integrity of the stone. Almost every stone has some kind of inclusions, some need magnification to see them, others show up with side lighting. These are the things that labs look to when identifying a stone to determine if it's been heated, possible origin etc.

The GIA in their colored stone course say this:

"Rather than regarding inclusions in colored stones as harmful, in small sizes an numbers that do not in any way detract from their beauty they should be regarded as adding to desirability, for they provide identifying characteristics."
